What’s it all about?

Scarf Lady needs some fresh inspiration and Sarah decides that the Hat Museum is the perfect place to visit.

This is the episode where:

• Sarah & Duck visit Scarf Lady at her house. She is knitting but is completely out of new ideas of what to make. Sarah suggests a trip to the Hat Museum

•  Scarf Lady is a bit reluctant but agrees to go. It turns out that Hat Lady – Scarf Lady’s old sporting rival – owns the museum.

• Sarah loves all the hats in the museum especially the one shaped like a mountain! Scarf Lady would prefer a nice knitted hat but there aren’t any in the museum – Hat Lady is strongly opposed to knit.

• Duck tries on a pilot’s hat, and Sarah a detective’s deerstalker – but Hat lady says the hats are delicate and should not be worn and puts them back on display.

• Hat Lady shows Sarah & Duck to a huge room with hats in every colour – but admits she is missing the perfect green colour. She asks Sarah to donate her hat to the museum, not realising that it’s knitted!

•  Sarah’s green hat completes the set and all the hats light up. Hat Lady then realises that Sarah’s hat is knitted, and agrees that maybe knit isn’t so bad after all.

• Without her hat, Sarah has a cold head. Scarf Lady (now inspired again) knits a detective’s hat for Sarah and a pilot’s hat for Duck that they can keep

This is what we learn...

  • Museums exist for all sorts of things – even hats!
  • Looking at new things, like hats in a museum can give us inspiration to be creative
  • We shouldn’t touch the objects in museums unless we’re told we can
  • Donating is a very kind thing to do
