What’s it all about?

When it’s time for Tortoise to hibernate, Sarah & Duck help him find a quiet place to sleep.

This is the episode where:

• Sarah & Duck are outside looking at the autumn leaves

• They find Tortoise, who’s fast asleep in a pile of leaves!

• Sarah & Duck learn that Tortoise is hibernating for winter, but it’s too cold for him outside, so they first look on their computer to learn more about hibernation.

• They take him inside to build the perfect hibernation bed – they use a big box full of hay that they decorate with leaves and make look like a train

• They then find Tortoise a quiet place to sleep – next to Donkey in his shed!

This is what we learn...

  • Lots of Leaves turn brown and red in the autumn and drop from their trees
  • Some animals – like tortoises – don’t enjoy the cold weather, so they hibernate and sleep through the winter
  • When hibernating, Tortoises should sleep in a box with some bedding, somewhere quiet and out of the cold.
