The Big Sleepover
Season 2 – Episode 15
What’s it all about?
Sarah & Duck invite some friends over for a sleepover, but getting to sleep is tougher than planned.
This is the episode where:
• Sarah & Duck invite Scooter Boy, Flamingo & John over for a sleepover
• They all play a fun card game – ‘Same Bread’ – that Flamingo wins, until it is time for bed
• They find it hard to get to sleep, except for Flamingo, so they try standing on one leg like her, but that doesn’t work
• They go downstairs and Sarah tries reading a bedtime story – but that doesn’t work either!
• Narrator suggests they try look up “ways to fall asleep” on the computer – but then they notice Moon out of the window
• John says the Moon must be very good at getting to sleep since he always sleeps during the day – so they ask him for advice
• Moon takes them through his bedtime routine, very slowly, and calmly, which makes them all very tired and they fall asleep under a blanket together
This is what we learn...
- Sleepovers are exciting, but sometimes it can be hard to fall asleep
- Sometimes thinking about things too much can keep you awake
- Stretching, and thinking about slow, calming, relaxing things can make it easier to fall asleep
- It’s good to ask for advice when you’re finding something difficult
- Owls blink rather slowly!
