What’s it all about?

It’s nearly time for Tortoise to wake up from hibernation so Sarah plans a pretty surprise.

This is the episode where:

• Spring is about to begin so it is time for Tortoise to wake up from his hibernation

• Sarah wants to make Donkey’s house tidy for when Tortoise wakes up. So she has a spring clean and picks some flowers to decorate the shed.

• Duck is sleepy so he and Sarah work on a Wake Up Dance to show to Tortoise

• While they are outside, Donkey eats all the flowers, so Scarf Lady knits new decorations out of all the straw lying around

• Sarah & Duck, and Scarf Lady then perform the Wake Up Dance for Tortoise who wakes from his hibernation!

This is what we learn...

  • Some animals don’t like the cold and sleep through the winter months – this is called hibernation
  • Hibernation ends in the spring when the weather gets warm again
  • People often have a ‘spring clean’ to tidy their houses when the spring arrives
  • Flowers start to appear in the spring – and Donkey likes to eat the fresh spring flowers!
