What’s it all about?

Bug and his friends lead Sarah & Duck to their outdoor music concert.

This is the episode where:

• Sarah & Duck are in their living room drawing pictures of each other with crayons

• Sarah thinks Duck has drawn a picture of her, but he was actually drawing the plant!

• They notice Bug sitting on the plant, practicing his tiny trumpet – they start to draw him, but he suddenly disappears outside

• Sarah & Duck wonder where Bug is going, so they follow him out of the house and over to Donkey’s shed

• At the shed, they ask Donkey if he’s seen Bug – he points them in the direction of the field, where they discover Bug having a musical party called a ‘Bug Bop’

• Moon appears and explains that he’s been joining in the Bug Bops after hearing the music one night – he joins in with his spoons!

• Moon tells Sarah & Duck that the Bug Bops are meant to help the grasses grow – but Bug and his friends are not creating enough rhythm and so the grass crop won’t bop!

• Sarah & Duck decide to help by providing some more rhythm – using their crayons and stamping their feet to make a beat!

This is what we learn...

  • You can make music and rhythm from all sorts of things – including your feet, and spoons!
  • Rhythm is the beat and the sounds that keep music moving
  • Playing music together and dancing is lots of fun
  • It’s nice to help our friends!
